Let’s begin this story with some facts. The e-commerce industry in the UK alone is worth an approximate £2,089.6 billion, and accounts for more than 30% of all retail sales in the country. Doji are an active part of that competitive environment, and specialize in selling refurbished smartphones and tablets.

Doji have built their business around strong company values, and pride themselves on their focus on employee well-being as well as ethical practices. While the company documented these values extensively, they found themselves at an impasse. They found that they were not able to get their employees and partners to educate themselves about these values effectively. Thankfully, UJJI were at hand to help them.

Doji as a company wanted to build a culture that revolves around strong values rooted on the business' sustainable value proposition. Securing Doji's B corp certificate was key to build a work culture that aligns with these values. So, Doji created more than 50 policy documents detailing workplace wellbeing, compliance and sustainability SOPs.

These documents addressed a variety of topics, ranging from inclusivity and protection against bullying to confidentiality policies, performance review processes and more. However, educating Doji’s own employees and partners about these policies was easier said than done. Doji found that the documents they had painstakingly created were treated like heavy reading, making their target audience skim through them or skip them entirely. 

As a result, Doji found it increasingly difficult to consolidate the rights and responsibilites of employees within their business.
